Daniel had a full Saturday off last weekend.
He had mentioned to Aubrey taking a little day trip to Wichita Mountains for some hiking.
Well, from that moment on she asked nonstop if today was "the" day.
After looking into it more, we realized the destination was farther away than we originally thought.
But seeing how excited Aubrey was about it, we knew we had to go.
And I'm SO glad we did -- it was one of the best little Saturdays we've spent as a family!
Aubrey has already been asking when we can all go back to the "Rocky" Mountains. :)
Not only was it immensely scenic...

But the Wichita Mountains are also home to a wildlife refuge, which we were able to experience personally.

Then, some buffalo decided to cross the road right in front of us...

And proceeded to charge each-other and butt heads!

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14

Like getting to observe this herd of buffalo just hanging out...
And this long horn just waiting to cross the road...
Oh, and cute prairie dogs popping up to scope things out...

Then, some buffalo decided to cross the road right in front of us...

And proceeded to charge each-other and butt heads!
It was like watching National Geographic out our car window!
While I admit watching all the wildlife was pretty incredible, I think my most favorite part of the whole trip was our hiking excursion.
There were certain moments that had me feeling as if I was literally walking through one of my morning devotionals...
Think of your life as an adventure, with Me as your Guide and Companion.
Live in the now, concentrating on staying in step with Me.
When our path leads to a cliff, be willing to climb it with My help.
Enjoy the rhythm of life lived close to Me.
You already know the ultimate destination of your journey: your entrance into heaven.
So keep your focus on the path just before you, leaving outcomes up to Me.

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14
